Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at a temple near the Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan (India). Bhangarh Fort is the most haunted fort in India. It opens at day time for visitors but no one can enter inside after sunset.

Time

I still remember that it was a beautiful sunny day of very cold January. I was going to "Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary" with my family and this fort was on the way. It was around 11:15 when I took this picture.

Lighting

It was a sunny day and the sun was behind me. Due to winter, the light was not harsh and my subject was in the shade so it was an advantage for me.

Equipment

I used Canon EOS 80D camera and Canon 24-70 f/4 IS lens for this shot. No tripod or flash was used.

Inspiration

When I entered the temple two monkeys jumped above me, they were playing with each other. I thought that if I am able to click them in mid-air, it would be a great shot. So I set the frame and start waiting. After about 20 minutes, they jumped again and I took this shot. I stand there for 20 minutes with my camera in my hand but this shot was worth the wait.

Editing

Mot much post-processing required in this shot. Just basics like color correction, contrast, cropping and sharpening were done.

In my camera bag

I normally have a camera body, a wide-angle lens and a standard 24-70 lens in my bag.

Feedback

You don't need any special equipment for such shot. All you need is a place where you can find such action and some patience.
