The upper falls of Aysgarth begin a long series of cascades, rapids and waterfalls along the river Ure as it drops over limestone crags. This river holds a special place for me, I worked for the local rivers trust for many years and researched the ecology of the system looking at how land use impacts the populations of brown trout fry. These waterfalls where the lower extent of my case study site.
