Location
The photo was taken in my personal photography studio in Brescia, Italy. I built my home made studio in my grandparents' home. I own economic equipment but I find it effective for my needs. I used a plexiglass panel mounted on a boom and I sprayed water to form droplets.Time
In the studio photography one of the best things is that the day of the time is what you want, you can create the night as well as a sunny day or a day with a lot of light scattered clouds. In this case we were at the beginning of the afternoon but the light seems that hot of a sunset in late summer through the curtains.Lighting
I wanted that the lighting in this shot to reflect the delicacy of the pose and the tones of the subject, so I opted for a slightly large octabox (120cm). The light comes from camera right at about thirty degrees.Equipment
I used my Nikon D810 with the nikkor 24 70 2.8 (no VR). I bought this lens used on January and i literally love it. I used also the Quantuum Move 400 triggered with YN 622 triggers. During this kind of shot i never use tripod (I use it when I do headshot using 105mm macro lens).Inspiration
I saw and image looking at inspiring images here on Viewbug some months ago, and I was stunned looking at some photos where the photographer used waterdrops, so I decided that waterdrops would have been a good prop for this series about delicacy and female beauty and feelings. I usually see inspirations everywhere and I take months to elaborate my own way of using new inspirations into my imagesEditing
When shooting in the studio I want everything to be right at the time of shooting, trying to minimize the post-processing. In this photo I just made it slightly warmer and made a little crop.In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D810 with Nikkor 24-70 2.8. The next things I usually pack in bag are NIkkor 85mm 1.8D, Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 and Sigma 105mm 2.8 Macro. That's all I need. If I planned to use Flash I also pack Godox AD 360 with a 60x90 collapsible softbox (modified by me to make it double diffused),a reflector and YN 622 triggers.Feedback
photography studio is a fairly complex issue. The difficult thing is to be "connected" with the model, so that you are comfortable with. To achieve this we need an idea to be developed, and that the photographer and model must have shared this idea. In the studio, having to do with a black background (always recommend to buy Gray photographic backdrops for more creative possibilities) if we haven't ideas we can't create interesting images. Lighting is essential in images like this and you should always pay attention to details. It's important to always wonder whether the illumination that has been chosen is suitable for the purposes of communication of the image we are creating. Pose is very important too, because it must fit the overall mood of the image
