I just wanted to leave a quick note to say thank you for participating in my "Portraits on Location" challenge. While I ultimately chose another photo as the winner, this one was one of my 100 favorites in a field that was just shy of 2000 entries.

Location
It was taken at the Ex-Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, a well known popular location for taking portrait in Hong Kong.Time
Around 9pm of the night on a weekday, a nice time in Hong Kong to take photos where the area is less crowd with people.Lighting
In order to capture both the model and the building (which already lit up itself nicely). I use a single Godox AD360 Studio Light with it's small softbox (placed on the left side of the photo, face directly to the model) to light up the model. I believe a single flash light setup is often enough to give great result, I would rather spend more time on finding different angle of the shoot instead on setting up multiple flash light.Equipment

It all start as my interest in experiment using ultra wide angle lens for people shoot in the past years. Wide angle lens often consider as the "forbidden" lens to use for people shoot. But the advantage I find using wide angle for people shoot is it will easily bring in more background element, and by carefully compose your main subject, it will often make the subject stand out more in size (as wide angle will often bring closer object to took larger compare to the background)Editing
I didn't do much post-processing for the photo. I only tweak a little bit white balance as toe balance both Flash light color and the building's light color.In my camera bag
My go to camera is Sony A6000 and Sony 10-18mm F4 Ultra Wide lens, which is light-weight and easy to carry around and give great photos especially Landscape. If I do portrait on that day, I will take my 35mm F1.8 lens as well. For taken some serious shot, I also bring along a Sony A7 II with Sony GM 24-70 2.8/F Lens, to have a dual camera setup.Feedback
For night time portrait, take your time and experiment more in flash, as it often take quite a bit time to master the flash setting. I would stay stick with a single flash setup if possible.
