Thank you! it is called a "stave church" and I think the tradition of building churches like this came from Norway. This one was in Rapid City, South Dakota. Thank you for your interest!

Minot, North Dakota has a Scandinavian park that also has a stave church, along with other buildings brought over from Europe. They represent all of the Scandinavian countries. Nice photo, Greg

Thank you! This was a film photo I took back in 2004 and scanned the negative. It really is impressive how they built these stave churches entirely of wood with no nails.
