Oh, the lengths I go for a photo...
It's Sunday morning, the alarm is set at 5am, the temperature outside is barely above freezing and a beautiful silky mist shrouds the trees, a pale white coat illuminated by the moonlight. The 20 mile drive to my destination is quiet, not another car on the road for the entire ride and, when I reach the parking lot, I’m not surprised to find it deserted. Quietly, almost afraid to break the spell that surrounds me, I grab tripod and backpack and head to the waterfall, its roar is but a suffocated noise in the distance. Ten minutes later, I’m at destination and it’s now time to setup the tripod, mount the camera, choose the composition, focus, and then wait. This is the best part, when everything is ready and I can finally savor the sight completely, when the Sun slowly begins to paint the landscape with delicate brushes of light. CLICK! This is the moment I’ve been waiting for.

Great capture, and description. I like to hear the journey a photographer experiences in pursuit of that elusive and magnificent capture. I have experienced it myself many times and appreciate those who are kindred in the full expression of our art form. Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I feel that sometimes sharing the "behind the scenes" helps to better understand the photo
