Behind The Lens
Location
This was taken at Docklands in Melbourne, Australia. It is a dividing wall at the top of some escalators and this section was the only part with the sun hitting it. This just highlighted the text of the surface.Time
Around 2 pm in summer when the sun was just peeking through some clouds on an otherwise very bleak Melbourne day.Lighting
Just keep looking for the light. It may be that you just need to wait a minute or two for a cloud to come or go. This image would have looked nothing like this 30 seconds either side of when I took it.Equipment
Canon 700D, Canon 24-105 f4-5.6 Series lens. Hand held.Inspiration
The way that the sun accentuated the holes against the yellow drew me instantly to the shot.Editing
As this is a very simple image, it required little processing. Looking back now I would have possibly added a bit more vibrance bit, it looks like how I saw it at the time.In my camera bag
I have upgraded a bit since this. My son has taken a liking to photography so he now caries this lens. Normally have a wide angle lens, tripod, nifty 50 (2.8) and a kit 70 - 250. (My budget dictates what I carry :-D)Feedback
I am always looking at he way that light interacts with surfaces. The most boring thing can come alive with the right lighting (and a bit of imagination)
