This is an old KC-97 tanker sitting on strip alert in Sondrestrom Greenland in 1962. Their job had been to refuel B-52's as they went over the pole in case of a war with Russia. Although there was regular training to do this, thank God it never had to be done for real. The original image was made with a Nikon Nikkorex F and a 50 mm lens. I scanned the image using my Epson Perfection V700 with Silver Fast Archive Suite to import a hi res image with dust and scratches removed and then did final post processing in PSCS6 Extended using Picture Postcard Workflow
