Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken last 2012 in Bacolod, Philippines. This was my colleague's puppy following me when I was eating something and it seemed like the dog wants to take what I am eating.

Time

I took this photo in the morning at around 7am while we were eating breakfast outside my colleague's backyard.

Lighting

Well, because morning light is the best for me, I had no problem with the exposure at all, I do not need to adjust the ISO more than 100.

Equipment

I used Nikon D80 with 50mm, f1.8 lens here. I did not use any lighting setup at all.

Inspiration

If you look at the dog, he was trying to communicate with me like, "please give me what you have there..." I need to capture the moment first before I give away what I was eating for breakfast.

Editing

I did a slight post-process by using Adobe Lightroom. The original image is very good, but I need to set some tones and color grading to create a drama.

In my camera bag

I have Nikon D80, D90, Nissin Flash, Nikon SB-600. I am not really a heavy-duty camera user. I believe we can all create quality pictures even your camera is not as great like others.

Feedback

My advice is simple, BE PATIENT. Do not rush the moment. If you do that, you'll create the perfect image with a perfect story.
