Vertical panoramic of Lake Leland in Washington State. It took 3 wide angle verticals to get what I wanted here. It was the only way and it also happened to be my first attempt at a vertical pan. They were stitched together in Photoshop. Olympic Mountain Range in the distance. The mountain with a snow cap is Mt Townsend. It faces Port Townsend 25 miles to the north. The closest city is Quilcene,Wa which is 4 miles to the south. Leland sits just outside the Olympic National Park border.

Incredible shot, with excellent composition, highlights, detail and stitching. What a fortuitous opportunity the unique cloud formation over water presented you in order to create this illusion.

Absolutely stunning capture and particularly love the eye vignette effect by the clouds!

I'm usually not a huge fan of reflections, but this one is Amazing! I love the way the clouds "frame" the shot!

The landscape is beautiful, but this clouds really create a stunning view. It seems a "Big Eye", amazing!

It sounds sophisticated and difficult for someone like me who has zero knowledge in photography, but your work got my attention. Bravo.

Thanks everyone! I never tire of looking at this image. To get that kinda cloud formation and be at a lake like Leland and have my new full sensor D810 and have the knowledge to pull off a vertical panoramic is astronomical, I think. Sometimes the gods do smile at ya !!!

wouldn't a fish eye lens worked well too? This is a terrific shot..

I've never shot a fisheye lens. But what i have seen, I would think the distortion would be too much. The trees on the left wouldn't stand tall and the shore line would bow??? But as far as getting the whole thing in one shot, a fisheye lens could probably do that!

With my fish eye, if I hold it directly at the scene, it comes out good and straight. If I hold it upwards it bows, same as downwards. I don't have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures like you do in the outdoors, just around my house or if we go fishing or to the beach... Your pictures are magnificent.. Keep it up :)

When we talk 'bout cloudy days, instantly the image that comes to our minds is darkness. But you did a great work, plenty of life. Congrats!!
