Location
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most beautiful and probably the most famous waterfall islands. I took the picture on the first day of my one week trip in december 2016. Seljalandsfoss, Þórsmerkurvegur, Island: 63°36'57.7"N 19°59'19.2"WTime
We arrived at the area at lunchtime, 1 p.m after driving round about 3 hours away from our hotel in the city.Lighting
In winter there are less than five hours of daylight. We started our tour in the dark at 9 a.m. and drove from Rejikiavik to the south. It was still not really bright and the light mood reminded of an early sunset. This photo of a bracketing- series was captured with ISO 1250, f5 and 1/60sec without tripod.Equipment
I shot the picture with my Sony SLT-A77V with the Sigma 10-20mm DC mounted and polarizing filter on it.Inspiration
Simply the breathtaking beauty of this waterfall must be inspiration for everyone.Editing
I always shoot my pictures in RAW mode and do the processing with Adobe Bridge in CameraRAW. In this case with "normal" adjustments and some attention regarding the sharpness due to the high granularity of the high ISO.In my camera bag
Always the Sony SLT-A77V, the Sigma 10-20mm DC, a Minolta AF 100 Macro and a Sigma 18-200 DC are with me - sometimes also a Walimex 8mm Fisheye and some more toys...Feedback
Always count on rain and wind in winter! Take a tripod with you and waterproofed bags. And: The early bird catches the worm, because then not so many tourists are on the way! ;-)
