Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photograph while visiting Jacksonville Zoo in Florida.

Time

We got to the Zoo early to beat the heat because in May it can still get hot very quickly. I took the photography at 11am.

Lighting

This was one of these lucky days when it was not to bright and even although the giraffes were out in the open everything came together.

Equipment

This was shot with a Sony A500 and A Sigma 70-300 lens, hand held not other equipment used.

Inspiration

I had gone to the Zoo knowing that they had just had a baby giraffe born recently and once I got the the giraffe enclosure I was very lucky to get this shot of it reaching up to mom.

Editing

Depends on the photograph with this one I dont believe so.

In my camera bag

Currently I carry Nikon D3100 with a Nikon 18-70 lens and I also have a Nikon D5200 with a Sigma 70-300 lens.

Feedback

With photographs like these it is being in the right place at the right time. Also when you are dealing with animalwhether in a zoo setting our out doors somewhere it is just a matter of patience. Oh! and take lots of photographs you might just get that perfect one.
