Irrelevant - it was lit by studio flashLighting
The photo was taken in a studio. The main light was a Godox AD600BM strobe with softbox top right just out of shot, the proximity of the light causing rapid drop off (inverse square law), to keep the background black. A silver reflector was placed on the right of the model to provide a little fill in the shadows on the face.Equipment
The camera was a Canon 5D3 with 24-105 lens mounted on a tripod. A Godox AD600BM provided the main light.Inspiration
I was attempting to create a high impact B&W image.Editing
The image was shot in RAW and converted to B&W in photoshop. Other than a a little twerking of curves to make the blacks, black processing was minimalIn my camera bag
Canon 5D3 + Canon 5D2, 24-105, 85mm f1.8, 50m f18, 70-200 f2.8Feedback
Go for it - don't be afraid to get the softbox very close to the model to get the rapid drop off in light.
