Location
This photo has more interesting story than the photo itself may really be, most of my shots were taken on the east end of long island and as many know on the south fork, there are the crumbling Remains of a military installation. A very strange place to be and i fact the popular netflix series “stranger things” was largely based of this location. To this day one of my favorite places to shoot. This photo was taken very late at night. I was no older than 16 or 17 at the time and i had made the drive out there with a close friend (the subject of the photo) and quietly crept onto the property, camera and crow bar in hand.Time
It was taken at night. very late at night. In a concrete room with no windowsLighting
In settings like this when i was really going for aggressive shadows have a flash was a mush but have a secondary light right under the camera was important to but had to be inline with the cameraEquipment
A nikon d-3000 and and a manual lense. Dont rember witch oneInspiration
Just the setting in general. I loved shooting there and at the time it seemed like people loved the photos i would take here but they wanted to se a subject in themEditing
Nothing much just adusting light valuesIn my camera bag
Nikon d-3000 1 manual portrait lense A gropro hero 5 black. Every thing you can think of to get through a locked doorFeedback
Be careful but have fun. Never underestimate a dirty trampled and vandalized setting. They offer a lot to shoot They mostly come with risk legally or risk to you own health.
