I went up Big Cottonwood Saturday to get sunrise up at SIlver Lake. Unfortunately, there is no access to Silver Lake at 5:30 AM, and with snow banks 10 feet high, no way to sneak in. So I headed home with nothing.... but as I headed down the hill, I saw this shot. I got up early again Sunday, hiked through waist-deep snow, and was able to capture this. My coffee froze while I waited for the light (yes, I have pictures!). And it was cold. But I got the picture I wanted!
