I think this is different from the usual butterfly pictures. The blue colors and the reflections makes this one stand out I think.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in The Orchideeënhoeve in the butterfly garden. The butterfly is sitting on a marble table that was wet. I loved the combination of the transparent butterfly with the reflection.

Time

It was at 9.20 AM.

Lighting

It was indoors in a greenhouse with glass ceiling. I did not use flash or any kind of lighting equipment.

CAMERA: Canon EOS 650D LENS: Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro

Inspiration

I loved the combination of the transparent butterfly with the reflection.

Editing

Some basic changes in contrast, clarity etc. and spot removal.

Feedback

Take your time when you go to a zoo or a butterfly garden. Go alone, or with other photographers. You have to concentrate on these insects to be able to shoot at a nice photo. For shooting other animals in a zoo: Before you go, try to learn about the behavior af the animal you want to shoot. This gives you a better chance to predict how the react.
