Being from PA., and visiting Chicago, the local Little League baseball team, JRW, was playing in the LLWS Championship game in Williamsport, PA. The city of Chicago, had a live celebration showing of the game, open to the public, outside the famous Chicago Theatre, on a big screen. Having covered the LLWS numerous times, and the excitement JRW brought to the city of Chicago, it was the only place to be that day. It was a great feeling to see and feel the happiness, love, friendship, CHICAGO showed that afternoon. The lady in the image had a newphew on the team. She was with a group of friends, that were not shy about the enthusiasm for JRW. There are a few emotional images of her captured that day, a few on my Viewbug page.Editing
Shot RAW, as always, very, very little. Light was nice and even.In my camera bag
At the event, used 2 Canon 5D MkIII bodies, Canon Lenses, 24-70 and 70-200mm f/2.8 ISM. This is all the equipment needed for this event, besides, I rode my bicycle to the event.:-)Feedback
Being a photojournalist, and covering sports for many years, this event was really fun:-) Like I mentioned earlier, the JRW Little League brought lots of joy to the city of Chicago, people of all ages, races, religions, and yes even politicians, which were in attendance to cheer n "glad hand" during time of elections. Her passion for the team was so great to see and so it was easy to capture:-) When photographing people, no matter the situation, I always focus, no pun intended, on the eyes!! And also, I believe you have to love and have fun with what you are photographing!
