Canon 5d iv, 70—300 mm Canon lens, Monopod (A tripod would have been better, but they weigh more, & it's easy to miss a shot while setting up a tripod…… same issues exist with a mono pod, but to a lesser extent).Inspiration

Lots of cropping, This was done at "photo Art" & not for Audubon or any of the fussy, anti editing publications, so I had a lot of lee way in smoothing ruffled feathers (if there were any, I really don't remember), I most likely increased the saturation. I was lucky in that the image is very sharp, & the lighting very soft.In my camera bag

In this instance, not too much. Camera (Canon 5D mark iv) 40mm 2,8 Canon pancake lens, telephoto zoom, Monopod. Spare battery & charger, spare Memory card. That's about as light as you can get. I could have left out the 40mm lens, but it weighs next to nothing. I could have left behind the monopod, but them my image would have been a bit softer. I had a case with wheels, although the case is heavier, it's an overall plus if you are doing a lot of walking. It also had room for an umbrella, which proved to be very useful later on in the day. A bottle or even two, of water can be a BIG help. Sunblock can also prevent a lot of grief. Candy bars & a sandwich can be helpful, but in this case there was an eatery near by.
