Behind The Lens

Location

I excluded the photo in the Terrapark in Rheinberg. It is a terrarium system with lizards, frogs, snakes and some insects.

Time

This photo was taken in the morning of 2016.02.13

Lighting

It was the usual art lighting in terrariums.

Equipment

Oly EM-1.1 Sigma Macro, 150/2,8 Oly 1,4 x Converter Tripot

Inspiration

The front view with both eyes, the horns in connection with the blurry light background made me take this picture. In order to represent the head as accurately as possible against the blurry background, I decided to use a stack with an open aperture and about 8 pictures.

Editing

After the general exposure corrections in Lightroom, the 8 pictures were composed with the help of Zereene and then finalized in Photoshop.

In my camera bag

My camera bag is always packed for the respective application (macro, landscape or architecture). Definitely my two camera bodies Olympus OM-D E-M1 and PEN-F are. Feedback

The background often plays a crucial role, especially in macro photography. It should always be ensured that in addition to the self-evident points such as sharpness, details, division and exposure, it is the background that rounds off the entire picture and thus really brings out the motif.
