Socotra is an extraordinarily diverse island, ranging from montane forest in the mountains of the interior, to scorching deserts like this one.

Here the waves are that of grains of sand brought by the winds and the ocean over countless millennia.

These pristine waves, or ripples are only briefly disturbed by insects, crabs, birds, sheep, or the odd tourist like me walking over them.
