Every surface was getting suffused with red

We got up early to catch the sunrise at Moro Rock. It was slightly cool and still quite dark when we pulled into the parking lot. We briskly sauntered up the rock and soon found ourselves at the end of the granite rock overlooking the Middle Fork where Kaweah River was running 3,500 feet below us. Across the Middle Fork, the distinctive Castle Rocks and Paradise Peak brooded like a champ. The sky started brightening up as the sun was rising higher, close to the Great Western Divide ridgeline. It was the same divide over which we crawled via Kaweah Gap about a week ago. Every surface was getting suffused with red under the flaming clouds.
