Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during an Instawalk. The location is a bridge called Älvsborgsbron in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Time

We had our meeting in the afternoon in january and the weather was cold and gray.

Lighting

Due to the grey weather, the light became subued. I think that that's the perfect condition to take this kind of photo. It feels natural and raw. No extra equipmemt is necessary.

Equipment

I used my favourite camera; an Olympus E-M5Mark II with a M.Zuiko digital ED 12-50 mm lens. I prefer to work handheld so I can quickly move to the perfect spot for the shooting.

Inspiration

When we walked around on this bridge I noticed that one of the participants started to walk ahead from the group. I saw the perfect picture just appear in front of me and I quickly put myself in the right position to capture the right moment with him meeting the traffic.

Editing

The only postprocessing I did was the improve the sharpness a bit.

In my camera bag

I always have my camera bag ready because you never know when the opportunity to go for a shooting appears. In the bag I have my beloved Olympus camera with the 12-50 mm lens. I also have a M.Zukio ED 75-300 mm lens to use for the longer range targets. A cleaning kit is always necessary and and extra memory card.

Feedback

The best advice I can give is to always have an open eye and open mind for your surroundings. Then you'll have a greater chance to discover the perfect picture in front of you. Do a photowalk with others or go to places were people move around a lot.
