Their presence is so real

Walking among the giant Sequoia Trees is always a humbling experience. These trees live up to 3,000 years. These trees, with scalelike leaves, have a thick layer of barks that protects themselves from wildfire, unlike trees with needlelike leaves, such as redwoods and pines. These giant Sequoias mostly die when they fall. Not from the wildfire. Unless there’s another fire that would harm them before their fire scars heal. The world famous General Sherman, largest single stem tree in the world, stands 275 feet tall and is estimated 2,000 years old. While the morning sun rays were showering through these amazing trees, sauntering around them is just like meeting an old friend again as their presence is so real. The scent in the air is so inviting and the dirt beneath my feet is soft. It’s like realizing what one had been missing out on. And they are always there to come back. Of course, most of them had been around for long even before he-she came and will be around for another few hundred years even after he-she is gone.
