This beautiful waterfall is located in Rifle Falls State Park on the western slope of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Rifle Falls State Park is a Colorado State Park located in Garfield County northeast of Rifle, Colorado. The central feature of the 48-acre park is a triple 70-foot waterfall flowing over a travertine dam.

This is a small state park that is overlooked by many. It is a wonderful photo location. The best thing from my point of view is that you can park within 100 yards of the falls. As I get older, I don't relish the prospect of carrying a heavy pack up a mountain to photograph a waterfall.h
