I think the photo would look better if the crab was on the right side but still looking to the left. Rules of composition. Either way, it is still a very nice photo

Location
I took this photo while on vacation. I went to my birthplace, the Island of Mauritius. It is a photographic paradise.Time
I took this picture with the sun at its brightest. I decided to do it around 1pm so there would just a little bit of shadow but enough to make is look distinct. Getting the angle right was the hardest part as the hermit crab kept running away from me.Lighting
I wanted the details to be perfect so I has to make sure the angle was just right. I took about 70 photos before I was happy.Equipment
Nikon P600 ISO 100 Focal Length 125/10 Shutter speed 10/8000 No tripod cause I had to run after the crab and re position all the time. I had the misfortune of not having my macro lenses with me but made due with moving really slow, getting as close as I could and then stopped moving.Inspiration
The night before, my dad and I went looking for crab. I caught this little hermit on the beach and brought it back to the bungalow. I knew that it would make for awesome pictures but it wasn't until the next day when I saw the settings that I knew how I was going to take the pictures. Then, it was simply a matter of waiting for the light to be right.Editing
None at all. Most of my picture do not have any post-processing. I prefer getting everything natural. It's much harder but makes for better pictures. In my camera bag
As little as I have to. Camera, extra battery, a couple of filter and maybe a macro lens. Tripod is always in the bad though.Feedback
Sometimes you have to make the scene and sometimes the scene will find you. This case is the latter, nothing was planned. Keep shooting until you are happy with your shot.
