Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at Port Fourchon, Louisiana.

Time

I'm not exactly sure what time this photo was taken. I was on a friend's sailboat helping him move the boat from Louisiana to Florida.

Lighting

The lighting provided in this image came purely from the docks. There was no additional lighting available.

Equipment

Do to helping a friend I didn't go on this trip prepared to shoot. This image was captured with my Galaxy s6 phone while standing on a moving boat.

Inspiration

I loved the way the lights illuminated the crane from behind and I found myself wishing I had brought my camera. In a pinch I grabbed my phone thinking there was no way I'd get a good picture do to the rocking of the boat, but my smart phone proved it's ability to me with this shot.

Editing

The only adjustments to this image was a curves adjustment, and a boost in saturation and contrast.

In my camera bag

I typically always have a tripod with me, my 70-300mm lens, 35mm lens and macro lens. I also find having ND filters and a shutter release a necessity.

Feedback

I highly recommend a tripod, shutter release and being on a stable surface lol.
