Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Nepal, one of the ancient buildings and colleges of Nepal.

Time

This is one of my favorite images. I still remember, walking around that busy road of the king's way and try to find the best spot to take this image. This image was taken on Friday, 3 April 2015 around 5:15 pm in full moon day.

Lighting

I wanted this image on long exposure in full moon day and to draw the viewers into a clock tower (Ghanta Ghar) on that day. There was some beautiful light from the moon on to that tower. I decided that would be a great way to do a long exposure and making the story even more interesting.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 60D, with an 18-55mm f/3.5 lens and tripod was used to take this image

Inspiration

I was looking for a nice ancient place to take a long exposure shot on a full moon day. I choose that place because it was quite near to my house and I had my friend with me that night.

Editing

Usually, this kind of photography requires a lot of post-processing. In this image, I took three different shots (one for the long exposure, other shots for the clock tower, and last shots for the full moon). Then I proceeded to merge 3 raw images using masks in photoshop.

In my camera bag

When I started photography I used to have Canon 60D, with an 18-55mm f/3.5 lens and Canon 50mm 1.2 prime. Then I bought Canon 5D mark iii 24-70mm f/2.8 and Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 because it was the best camera it had that particular year. Now I have Canon 5Dsr and Sony7r3 with Zeiss 16-35mm 2.8 and Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 prime in my bag.

Feedback

The most important things in the landscape is to have patience in you and have to wait for the right time and right place to take a beautiful image
