Location
We were in family travel to Croatia in the end of September, during the excursion to Plitvice lakes (Plitvicka jezera). We wanted to see famous waterfalls to 75 m high. Lakes are rather high in mountains. We arrived from summer to cold autumn with rain and fog.Time
It was about afternoon but thank to cold wind, rain clouds and the fog the day looked like gray evening.Lighting
Clear-vision distance was about 20-25 m. Lighting was adjusted only by gusts of the wind, not by the sun. This small raft emerged from fog suddenly as the ghoust. So far as I recall the photo was made without the flash.Equipment
This time my tools were only camera Nikon D60 with AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55 mm and usual umbrella. I tried to save the camera from the rain but wind damaged the cause. I used auto option.Inspiration
It was the raft turn-up and my permanent desire to shoot all I saw at this such horrible and such interesting day.Editing
I used ACDSee editing and corrected tilted horizon and enlighten the frame. That's the lot.In my camera bag
Normally I had one additional lens, AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200 mm in this case. But last years I use one lens AF-S NIKKOR 18-200 mm. Then and there I have homemade compact appliance instead of tripod. May be more power flashlight sometimes.Feedback
I don't know what advices can I give to my collegues, all the more to experienced photographers. Catch the moment and luck. Take a photo in all weather. Strive to see the beauty not only in exotic flowers and animals, but in usual things with rust and old paint too. Use post-processing. Beg your pardon, I'm bad advisor. I am only amateur photographer.
