Location
The photo was taken in my living room, it is my dad's old gold plated wall clock.Time
It was 4pm in the afternoon, I was scouting for subject matter around the house to test my new 60mm macro lens when i noticed the light from the window on the old wall clock.Lighting
I had no specific plan with the lighting on the shot, the natural light was perfect and prompted the shot.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 7D MkII, with a EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro USM lens and a Tripod. I used shutter lock and a remote trigger.Inspiration
I bought a new lens and needed some test shots, the photo jumped at me while looking for subject matter to shoot.Editing
I used Nik Collection filters to liven up the gold as it was rather dull in the RAW file. I highly recommend the Nik Collection Photoshop plugin for any passionate photographer. In this particular shot I used Nik Collection Color Effects Pro.In my camera bag
Normally I have my Canon 7D MkII and EF-S 18-200mm lens on me to cover just about any shot, be it action or still life.Feedback
When shooting macro, always try to use a tripod and remote trigger, set the camera to shutter lock to avoid vibration. If you are not familiar with digital zoom focusing on live view, look that up, it is the best way to get a sharp result.
