Behind The Lens

Location

At the beach of Jambeli, a small island in the Golfo de Guayaquil. It is one of the islands of the Archipel Jambeli the second archipel near the south coast of Ecuador.

Time

About five in the afternoon can´t be wrong about that. As a ecuatorial country sun set is always in between six and sevenPM. The island is very small with only one village and no more than 250 inhabitants. So my choise of subjects is somewhat limited to the sea, sun sets ,birds, the mangroves, the locals and tourists. But with the beach facing west we have the most incredible sun sets.

Lighting

To be honest I´m not realy a photografer but much more a painter and desiner. Besides all the digital options and computerized sistems don´t go well with me. So I take a lot of my fotos without realy knowing if the settings are the right ones.

Equipment

A Canon powershot SX 170 IS.My first camera was a Canon T50 and since that time I´m a real Canon fan. At the moment I have a Canon powershot SX 520.I don´t have any special gear but my tripod which I seldom use, maby in the future I will have learned enough to want some more equipment.

Inspiration

The magnificent colours of this particular sun set. Iwent to the shop but at the instant I saw the sun set annd the people getting their gear ready to go fishing I ran back to my house for my camara.

Editing

Yes I did some but with the help of a friend. At that time I did not know that I had a editing program in my PC.

In my camera bag

My camera, tabacos and a lighter. Before I was a member of Vieuw Bug I only had my camara with me at special ocasions or holidays. But now I try to take him with me most of the time but not as often as I would like. For instance going to Machala at the mainland for shoping it´s not without risking that someone tries to rob me.
