Stars trailing into night
Night photography continued at Precipice Lake. Since capturing the Milky Way was out of the question once the moon rose, I turned to the North Star, which was rising over Mt. Stewart. It was a bit tricky to frame both Polaris and the whole lake together because there was not much of shore I could walk around to. Remember, there’s the sheer cliff that just dropped into the water. Besides, I wanted to have a bit of that precipice in the frame as well. I traveled as far as I could comfortably hop over all the rocks. In the end I chose more of the precipice. Once I settled in, I locked the camera in place and let it roll.
