This photo was taken during a viola concert in Monterrey, Mexico.Time
After a hard work day, I went to this concert with high expectations on the viola player, this was at night.Lighting
The low light environment provided by the theather created a lot of contrast with the passionate motion of the violist. I truly believe that the photo makes a perfect match with the music that was being played at that moment. A very intimate atmosphere, and kind of lugubrios.Equipment
I used mi Nikon D5000 camera, no additional light, just the provided on the stage.Inspiration
I know personally to the violist, and I certainly know that she get lost into the music everytime she plays... the dark spots in her face made me visualize that she was no longer herself during the concert, her identity was gone... the music was her. Another remarkable feature to me was the fact that the structure of her body looked perfect, like a tower against the storm, unmovable but at the same time, very subtle, like floating among clouds. The scene was a pleasure to see and watch.Editing
I enhanced the contrast and turn the photo to B&W, I took the colors out of the frame to highlight the structure of her body.In my camera bag
Nikon D5000 and a couple of lenses (28mm and 50mm).Feedback
Just keep your full attention in the scene, in these kind of moments you can find a lot of shades and nuances, you have to be ready to capture the one you are expecting.
