During a walk in a local park on the shortest day of the year I went along what, for me, was a new trail. The outline of a decayed tree caught my attention. Then I saw the sun contained in the branches behind. The sun and the tree came into a visual relationship I found powerful. Usually I like lots of colour in my photos, but the starkness of this image speaks of the shortest day. I told the someone later that the sun seemed contained and was happy to have captured this image.
