Everything else turned gold

After supper, we found a spot to watch the sunset a few feet away from the campsite at Precipice Lake. In Sequoia National Park, this was the only campsite where there was no bear locker, meaning we were to put our bear canisters to the test. Of course, a chance of a bear visiting us was highly unlikely, but we had been told earlier in the day that a bear came the night before. We were surprised, but it was what bear canisters were for. At the elevation of 10,384 feet, this was the above timberline country, and it was apparent that it was quite windy, especially with Kaweah Gap in the Great Continental Divide behind us. The sun was setting right over the Alta Peak ridge line. The sky was turning red. Everything else the sunlight touched turned gold.
