Contingency Operations Base Speicher near Tikrit, Iraq 2006, in the summer the dirt becomes like 6" talcum powder and storms kick up this massive cloud of it and dump it on you for 6 or 7 hours grounding all flights. The phenomenon is referred to as a "haboob".

Thank you. This one was a combination of lucky timing and scrambling madly to get my camera in the perfect vantage point in order to capture a good composition at the perfect moment. I snapped off several stinkers on the run before I managed to find the perfect spot to get this image.
