Sunrise over Great Continental Divide

Morning came on the second day of backpacking the High Sierra Trail. We started early because our hike for the day would involve a long and steep uphill battle. When we were back at the Great Continental Divide lookout point, the sun wasn’t up yet. So, we waited for a bit. Soon the sun rose over the divide, and it was truly magical. Everything in this part of the wilderness started coming back to life. And it was time for us to get on the trail. We would be climbing the divide and it would be a long day.
