Common Loon feeding it's baby, taken in late June 2016. We had been canoeing all day across multiple lakes in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness when I spotted a couple of loons in the open. We let the tide drift us towards them and realized there was a baby hiding behind one. I clicked away as both mom and dad were busy finding food for the young one. Eventually they got closer to the shore where the reflection of the tree line and partial blocking of the sun created this incredible lighting.
