A pupil at the Siyakula Pre School in the Qolweni Township, Plettenberg Bay learning to read and write. I volunteered with a local charity and helped at the school. It was evident that the teachers were excellent and the children as lively as children anywhere, and that I was ill-equipped to maintain discipline or to teach in comparison to the teachers they already had. But it was a great experience and heart warming to see the children learning in a caring environment despite lacking resources.
