Thanks very much. I shoot with a Sony a6000 mirrorless and an FE70-200 zoom lens. This little frog was very cooperative as it sat and stared from a plant just outside my lounge. :))

Cool capture. Great composition and color and a subject who looks like he's smugly smiling while he poses. Congratulations on all your awards!

Location
This photo of a little green bell frog tucked inside a large, leafy plant, was taken in my garden. I live in a rural area of New Zealand and have a large section with many plants .... and I don’t use sprays so fortunately little animals such as frogs can live safely amongst the greenery.Time
It was late in the morning when I spotted the frog in the plant just outside my lounge window.Lighting
The lighting was adequate... an overcast day ... but enough light to keep the ISO at a low settingEquipment
My equipment was minimal .... my Sony a6000 with a 70-200 zoom lens and reasonably steady hands.Inspiration
I love wildlife photography and frogs so was very excited to spot the frog inside the plant. The frog was very cooperative too and remained still for a long time. This enabled me to get up close and take a good number of images.Editing
I did a little post processing in Lightroom which included cropping, adjusting the white balance and increasing the contrast and clarity. In my camera bag
I travel lightly with my camera gear with two lenses ... my zoom for wildlife photography and a wide angle lens for landscape photography, 1 extra battery fully charged and extra memory cards.Feedback
Have your camera always ready for those spontaneous happenings around your home, such as the frog suddenly appearing in a plant or an interesting bird feeding on fruit. To take photos of wildlife such as frogs I try to make sure I’m at their level rather than above. I also try to get as close as I can. In this case I had to forage through the plant but fortunately frogs are not easily spooked.
