Location
This image was captured in Industrial Designer Shao-Pin Chu's (then) Toronto studio.Time
This was taken in the evening, but inside an studio.Lighting
The lighting was provided by a work light directly over the vice.Equipment
I captured this image using my Canon 5D Mark II with a 24-105mm f/4 lens. The image was handheld without flash, using only the available lighting within the studio.Inspiration
This image holds a special place in my heart as it's an image of Industrial Designer Shao-Pin Chu putting the finishing touches on my wife's engagement ring in his (then) Toronto studio. I wanted to document the event so that I would have a memory of the process that went into creating the ring.Editing
The image was processed in photoshop using the Nik Collection plug in and some additional LUTS to tone.In my camera bag
In my bag would be my Canon 5D Mark II with an assortment of lenses, most commonly being my 24-105mm f/4 and 40mm f/2.8.Feedback
Take images of things that really mean something to you, especially if you have something being custom made. If you can, try to arrange access with the creator to document the process they go through while creating the item.
