The sun was behind the clouds and just peaked out before sundown. I moved to mostly obscure it while stopping down the aperture to get the cool star effect. The shadows of the pilings even add to the effec more. Time exposure to give the cool water effect.

Equipment

Canon 5D Mk IV on a tripod with a wide zoom.

Inspiration

It is a combination of a few things I've been working on, time exposures and starbursts. I've been shooting a lot of piers etc too, so this is kind of a mish-mash of a lot of ideas.

Editing

Just a little Lightroom massaging, nothing major.

In my camera bag

Always a tripod, a few ND filters, a wide angle lens and a lot of patience and inspiration.

Feedback

A tripod is a must since time exposure require stillness/ A remote trigger (or time) helps reduce camera shake. Hiding the sun behind something with just a bit showing then stopping down the aperture will create the cool starburst/flare.
