On day 5 of a recent Overland Track trip here in Tasmania we were deep in the rainforests surrounding the Du Cane Range. It was pouring with rain, we were all soaking wet, the humidity was fogging up my camera lens and my polariser and other filters. But there was no way I could go past this little cascade. For some reason it just spoke to me and represented the amazing beauty that can be found within little micro scenes rather than chasing the big, expansive scenes that so many of us do. I had to stop and take as many shots as I could while struggling to keep the lens and polariser free of fog and moisture and while shielding the camera from the pouring rain. All around this part of the track there were little scenes like this and this is by far my favourite section of the entire 6 day trip.
