Canadian Idol has not been in Canada for many years. Back in August of 2008, we were visiting my parents in the city we now live in. Every summer at our Little Lake Park, Music Fest is celebrated. From June till the end of August there are Concerts in the Park every Wednesday and Saturday. The crowds get bigger every year. A varied Itinerary of Musicians are there during the Free Concert Series. Juno Award Winner and Peterborough born, Serena Ryder opened Musicfest this past summer. One of the songs she is best known for is 'Stompa'. Keifer Sutherland's band followed her a few nights later. But one warm August evening in 2008, our Canadian Idol Awards winner, Kalan Porter took to the stage. Young girls and women everywhere were so excited to see him :) I was fortunate, a young woman who was supposed to keep the crowd away from the stage was telling me I could not get closer - then Kalan saw me and told her to let me in :). I had just started using a Digital Rebel DSLR the day before. A lot of photos have been taken since the Summer of 2008.
