This is a friend´s apartment wich I choose to take advantage of the dark walls and ceiling to achieve deep shadows and high contrast.Time
Probably just after my afternoon nap....Lighting
I used 3 light sources: 2 softboxes with colored gels very close to the wall to create a strong reflection and a key white light. The key light was fitted with a large beautydish with honeycomb and a "mask", a foam board with a triangular shaped hole, so the light hits only the head and the torso with a nice falloff.Equipment
The 3 monoblock studio flashes (Godos SK400 ) and the respective modifiers. A Canon 6D camera with a 50mm lens and a radio to trigger the lights.Inspiration
Giulia is one of the most beautiful women I know. We worked together in a commercial shooting for a beauty clinic and had a great time with amazing photos and lots of fun. Then I was completely mesmerized and needed to ask her for a new shooting. We had another great day putting together our ideas and making her shine.Editing
I used Photoshop to do a basic skin treatment, to intesify the shadows and highlights and to fine tune the tones. I wanted to create a dramatic fashion look, with deep shadows, shiny skin tones and all the make-up details.In my camera bag
The most important part of my equipment are the strobes and the light modifiers. After modeling the light, any modern camera and lens will give you a nice shot. The 50mm goes great with APS-C, is the only lens I never left at home. Also, I always have the tripods, the remote controls, radio and cable to sync the strobes and a collection of colored gels and filters..Feedback
Keep all the elements very simple, a natural pose, a light easy to control and play with the composition to catch the mood without distractions. The main points in this image is the colors and the dramatic contrast and of course, her stunning sexyness.
