Off of Ridgeway Avenue in Greece NY, is part of the old Erie Canal that enabled the smaller canal barges to pick up or deliver using the original smaller Erie after it was deepened and widen and by-passed the City of Rochester at Canal Junction from 1917 to 1920. Parts of the original Erie Canal can still be found, this is just befor it was filled in and still is empty at what is now know as Ridgeway Avenue in Greece NY.

How I discovered Junction Lock is rather odd but this area is about a half mile away from my house AND it is the best kept secret in Rochester NY.
