Stay calm, thats exactly what I was telling myself when the lighting in Cornwall turned amazing. That rush of excitement we get when something amazing is happening. The composition was already set up and I was happy with it, it was a case of capturing the moment and doing it justice. I was shooting pretty much directly at the sun so blowing out the highlights was definitely a real threat and the shadows definitely didn't want to be too dark either. Getting the right balance was a priority, but most of all capturing the colours was paramount. I always shoot in Manual mode, and strongly suggest you do too. I know it's not that easy to learn and master, but once you do it will improve your photography and give you total control of your camera. Don't go for the easy option by letting the camera do the work. It won't always get it right, but you will.
