This is Hamnøy, one of the most photographed locations on Lofoten Islands, Norway. While there is nothing unique in this shot, i just coulnd't resist the temptation to take one of my own. I drove past this location at leat dozen times, before i was happy with the light and conditions on my 8 days trip.

Location
I took this shot at beautiful fishing village called Hamnøy, which is located at landscape photographers paradise - Lofoten islands, NorwayTime
Shot was taken at sunrise during October. I was in the are at "shoulder season" and had the spot all to myself, which is not usually the case, i've seen over 20 photographers lining up to this specific spot for this classic composition. I had passed this location for last 3 mornings and finally conditions were what i was hoping for, so i was more than glad when finally that specific mornign i had the light and wind that would give me that water movement with longer exposure,Lighting
i had imagined this long exposure shot in my head advance. While the location is marvelous, i wanted it to have some dynamic movement to it. Rising sun changed the light all the time and i kept shooting through out the whole morning.Equipment
This was shot with Nikon d750 and Nikkon 20mm 1.8G lense. i used Hictechs 3 stop filter and Sirui TripodInspiration
It is well known spot among landscape photographers. It is shot to "death", so at one point i even thought about skipping the whole picture. But once you get to location and witness it with your own eyes, you just can not take those shots. My accommodation was close by, and since it is a "dead end" road, i kept passing bu this location few times each day.Editing
Very basic post prosessing is done with this shot as the location it seldf speaks for itself. Lightroom adjustements globally and then more specific adjustement with photoshop. Some Nik filters to speed up the processIn my camera bag
I carry light primes lenses with me during these trips for my wide angle shots. While you lose the abillity to zoom, prime lenses make you think more of your composiion and force you to move around. i do have telezoom with me too, for more detailed and intimate shots like cloudy mountain peaks. But majority of my shots are with wide angle primes. I use lot of filters on my shots to bring out that extra mood or movement to picture, which also forces the more creative thinking to shots, which i found fun . especially on these classic locations.Feedback
If possible try travelling on off-season. You might take a risk on weather conditions, but then again there is better change to find a shot that haven't been taken over and over again. You will find much more peacefull spots that you will have all to your self and at least for me that is big part of landscape photography - enjoying the nature and it's peace while catching it's beauty.
