Lovely cat, nice composition and details.

Behind The Lens

Location
While our neighbors were on holiday we took care of their cat. This shot was taken outside their light blue shed
Time
I took this photo at around 10:30 AM The cat was casually walking around the home and would occasionally pause and pose, those moments were the time to shoot
Lighting
The weather was bright blue sky and white clouds, So I utilized the sun for lighting with a cloud as a diffuser
Equipment
For this shot, I used a Canon 5DS with a 100mm macro lens
Inspiration
This feline acted in such a royal way it was interesting to watch its behavior and take photos
Editing
There was not much post processing needed just a little bit of cropping, sharpening, and subtle lighting adjustments
In my camera bag
It varies what I carry, depending on what I'm shooting. For animals, I take my 70-200mm f2.8 along with a 50mm f1.4 prime and maybe a 100mm macro and possibly a Sigma 150-500mm so normally after giving it some thought, I end up bringing almost everything lol. You can never be overly prepared for a shoot. I do look forward to the day mirrorless cameras are on par with DSLR cameras and lenses. For me, that would mean dropping many kg worth of gear without compromising on quality
Feedback
Take many photos during a shoot more photos means more chances but don't just shoot without any ideas. Give it plenty of thought in many aspects such as Framing, Your distance from the subject, Lighting which is one of the things that changes the look and mood, What's in the background and what you're Focusing on.If you don't know where to focus, go with the eyes, they are what the human eye will naturally focus on.
