This is too cool! I feel the assertiveness of your subject as he claims his perch. Wonderfully composed! Couldn't be a better shot!

Location
I took this photo in my front yard garden at my home in North Ridgeville, Ohio USA. The toad was perched at the top of the Black Eyed Susans.Time
This photo was taken at the end of the day, 'the golden hour'.Lighting
I did not use a flash for this photo as the sun was setting and the flowers had a wonderful warm glow from the low sun in the sky and I wanted to keep the image as natural as possible.Equipment
I shot this image and held without a tripod or flash, I used my Canon Rebel DSLR and a 24-70mm 2.8 lens.Inspiration
This was such a serendipitous moment. I happened upon the toad, it as if he was watching over my garden perched perfectly balanced on the flower, I had to capture the moment, it was so perfect.Editing
I cropped the photo and adjusted the lighting slightly in photoshop. In my camera bag
I carry a Canon 60D DSLR, a Canon Rebel DSLR, a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 and a Canon 24-70mm. A Canon External Flash a Gary Fong Difuser, lots of batteries and extra data cards.Feedback
Be patient, always look for special moments like this and never give up.
