Location
This was taken at Shelby Farms State Park in Shelby County Tennessee. They were having a fall festival that featured various birds and local wildlife.Time
It was after lunch, early afternoon, early November. The handler was setup under some trees that were already changing colors.Lighting
It was shady with some sun getting through the autumn leaves, bright enough that no flash was needed.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3200, no flash with a 55 to 200 zoom. I had my camera bag so it could have been one of my other zooms.Inspiration
The owl was a small bird and cute, everyone was trying to get a shot. I had an advantage over most as I am 6'3".Editing
The only thing I remember doing was some cropping. In my camera bag
The camera of course, at least two zooms: a short zoom and a long zoom. One flash, several filters including two I use to take photos of the sun.A short tripod and a full size tripod I can carry over my shoulder.Feedback
Be patient, especially when others are present. I am a advanced amateur photographer and need to get out more. I find that I see things I would like to photograph, but don't stop or don't have my camera with me. So make sure you have your camera with you at all times and don't be afraid to stop and take the shot.
